ABOUT

Hello there! I'm Maureen. I'm a twenty-something aspiring PR professional laughing way too loudly in Texas. I taught high school English for four years after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, and I'm currently pursuing my dream career in publishing with plans to start my own publishing company in the future. When I travel overseas, I make sure to pick up copies of my favorite books: Jane Eyre and The Great Gatsby, soon adding The Bell Jar to my international collection. One of my most impactful reads is Hemingway's collection of short stories and vignettes, In Our Time. (If you know it/read it/love it we will get along JUST fine.) I'm drawn toward memoirs and chick lit, and I can't leave a bookstore without a self-help book in the heap. Some of my favorite sounds are a newly-popped cork (Cheers!) and pages turning/paper shuffling in movies.

When I'm not behind a book or stockpiling bright-colored cardigans and/or chunky jewelry, you can find me posting up at the local coffee shop with an iced dirty decaf chai with almond milk, typing away on my laptop. I laugh loudly, love fully, and speak freely, and at The Bubbly Bibliophile, I hope my musings and reviews on pop culture, life, beauty, and all things media inspire you to read and react with me!

Brunch. Beauty. Books.
Three of life's greatest pleasures.

Anything interesting that happens in my life only happens because I'm brunching, deciding what to wear when I'm going to brunch, reading, shopping, and reading about shopping. The Bubbly Bibliophile is a collection of my latest #bookhaul, #beautyhaul, and #mustbrunch spots.

The Bubbly Bibliophile comes from:

  1. how one of my beloved Secondary Education professors, Dr. Shiring, once described me as "effervescent"
  2. my preference to order a sparkling rosé or prosecco at the bar or brunch
  3. my unabashed obsession with books.
